I'm making it a project of mine to sketch portraits of all seven of the Endless: Destiny, Death, Dream, Destruction, Desire, Despair, and Delirium. As of now, I've only done three: Dream, Delirium, and Desire. They took about a half an hour each.
I think I'll probably start some project later on to draw better versions of each of them, or at least go back and enhance my shading (since I only used a mechanical pencil). All things considered, though, I'm pretty happy with what I've got so far.
So far, Dream's picture is the most stylized, and also, I've found, the most recognizable. I haven't shown anybody Desire yet, but my friend Lia said that the only way she could recognize Delirium was because of the eyes. This was the first one I drew, and, if you'd believe it, I drew it entirely without reference.
As I said before, I don't really think Delirium is that accurate. This picture actually started out as Death, and the facial structure does look a little Death-like, but I didn't think the expression suited her, so I switched it. That's probably the reason. My art teacher said that the composition was stronger than that in the Dream portrait, though, and I agree.
I just drew this one, actually. Desire was a challenge, since I wasn't sure how to get its features just enough male and female, and still be beautiful. I ended up using a few pictures for reference: one from the Endless Nights, a photo of Keira Knightley, and a photo of Liv Tyler. Despite using only photos of female actresses as reference, I think my Desire turned out a bit masculine.
I think next, I'll try to draw Death, then Destruction, Despair, and Destiny last. I'm not quite sure what I'll do with Destiny, since his face is usually in shadow.
